Jeff Zabudsky, PhD

Dr. Jeff Zabudsky was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Red River College on August 30, 2004 after spending over 20 years in post-secondary educational administration and in educational broadcasting. Jeff came to Red River College from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where he was Vice-President, Academic at Sault College. Prior to that, with a special interest in the integration of technology into the college teaching and learning process, Jeff served as Dean of Technology and Curriculum Innovation at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, and Distance Education Specialist at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Truro.

Jeff is currently the Chair of the 2009 United Way of Winnipeg Campaign, Vice-President of the Board of Winnipeg Harvest, and a member of the Premier’s Economic Advisory Council, the Manitoba Immigration Council, the Manitoba Innovation Council, the Manitoba Poverty Reduction Council and the Board of Directors of Destination Winnipeg Inc. He is past Chair of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, past President of the Canadian Association of Distance Education, and has served on the board of the Association of Canadian Community Colleges.

Jeff holds a PhD in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Alberta, a Master’s Degree in Distance Education from Athabasca University, and a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Ryerson University.

Role of the President

As Chief Executive Officer, the President reports directly to the Board of Governors and provides the institutional leadership for implementing the Board’s vision, mission and strategic direction for Red River College. The President is an ex officio non-voting member of the Board and its standing committees.

The President is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the College and oversees all academic and administrative functions within the Board’s prescribed policies and standards.
