Scholarships & Bursaries

Today’s students often balance their studies with their roles as parents, partners and part-time employees. Combined with increasing educational costs, the demands on Manitoba students are even greater. That’s why financial support is integral to their success and well being.

Each year, Red River College awards scholarships and bursaries valued at more than $300,000 to almost 500 students. This not only rewards students for outstanding achievement, but often provides critically needed financial support.

Scholarships

RRC awards scholarships to students for outstanding academic achievement. Many donors choose to support existing scholarships at the College. Others opt to establish a new one, which allows them to help set award criteria and name it in honour of an individual, family, organization, or special friend of the College.

Bursaries

Student financial need and academic standing are considered when awarding bursaries at the College. As with scholarships, donors may support an existing bursary or create a new one based on their interest in a particular program. Many donors support bursaries so as to help financially needy students complete their education.

Endowed Gifts

Donors can support their scholarship or bursary in perpetuity by endowing their gift to the College. This means the principle donation is invested and allowed to generate interest — which is used to award scholarships and bursaries.

Charitable tax receipts will be issued for all eligible donations to scholarship and bursary funds at RRC.
