After graduating from Red River College’s Building Technology program, Bob headed to Alberta in 1975 to pursue career opportunities. He put his combination of theoretical, practical and interpersonal skills to the test, and proceeded to build a successful career full of notable achievements. From 1981 to 1997, Bob headed up R.D. Walker & Associates, Project Consulting — during which time his organization presided over the aforementioned major construction projects in the City of Edmonton — including the new Edmonton City Hall, Telus Baseball Stadium, and renovations. Since 1997, he has been responsible for the overall operation of Ledcor Construction’s Northern Alberta Division, in his role as Vice President. Ledcor is Canada’s second largest construction company. Bob credits his RRC education with helping to prepare him for career success, and states that “Red River College has always had a superior standing in Canada for its quality of education and highly competent graduates.
Chris Jericho, Creative Communications, 1990
Three-time former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion and Canadian Wrestling Hall of Fame member Chris Jericho (Irvine) is a proud former Winnipeger who graduated from Red River College’s Creative Communications program in 1990. Chris also made the Business Division’s Honour List that year, and he credits his RRC education with preparing him to excel at public speaking, writing, and media relations. In the 44-year history of the WWE, Chris is the only performer to have held six different titles. As a multi-faceted performer, Chris has racked up a host of professional achievements outside of the ring, too. He hosts “The Rock of Jericho” on XM Satellite radio, and his rock band (Fozzy) has sold more than 200,000 records to date. Chris’s autobiography, “A Lion’s Tale”, became a New York Times bestseller. Chris has been recognized often for his devotion to various children’s charities.
