Jennifer Powell, Recruitment Officer
Post-secondary education has always been something I value personally and higher learning has consistently been part of my life. I am one of the lucky people who has a job that gives me the opportunity to help others pursue a path of higher learning. It is a pleasure to be able to help a future student choose a program at Red River College that will someday be their livelihood. We spend a lot of time in our jobs and to be able to help someone choose a career that they enjoy and can be passionate about is very important.
With experience in the staffing industry, I saw firsthand the advantages that Red River College graduates had in starting their careers. Employers wanted to hire these students because they had hands-on work experience, practical training and they were prepared for the workforce. With such an emphasis on Student Support Services that ensure success along the way, it was an easy decision to continue my career here in 2008.
If you are in the process of choosing a career or changing careers, I am here to help you learn about what your options are at Red River College. Come and visit me at any of the career fairs listed below or contact me to arrange a campus tour and I’ll show you around.

Jaime Richard, Aboriginal Liaison/Advisor
As the Aboriginal Recruitment Officer at Red River College, my primary goal is to be the first point of contact for our Aboriginal community. I am here to assist prospective students, educators, counsellors and community members alike with everything from one-on-one advising to helping students access the many supports and services across the college.
Whether you have questions about our programs, application processes, entrance requirements, funding, housing or if you are just starting out and looking for general information, I am here to make you feel welcome and to help you take the next step in your educational journey.
In addition to being your first point of contact, a large part of my role involves building relationships with our communities both locally and rurally. This includes travelling all across Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario and Nunavut to visit your home community, school or organization. My goal is to ensure you have the information needed to plan your educational journey at Red River College and a familiar name when you start on campus – Jaime.
