Cathy Rushton, MBA, FCA, has assumed the role of Interim President and CEO of Red River College.
Rushton has been RRC’s Chief Financial Officer since 1995, and added the responsibilities of Vice-President, Finance and Administration in 2006. In this role she has overseen the College’s annual budgeting process, led the development of the People Plan initiative, and managed the Financial Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Solutions, Facilities and Campus Services, Materials Management and Corporate Legal and Insurance Services departments.
She obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 1982, has a BA from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the University of Manitoba. She was elected a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants (FCA) in 2008.
After working in a public accounting practice in Toronto, Rushton spent over eight years employed in the not-for-profit sector, including at a major hospital, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The Board of Governors of Red River College is presently conducting a nationwide search for a new President and CEO. The Geldart Group in Vancouver has been engaged to assist the Board with its efforts. Further information will be provided as the search progresses.
