Where can I find information on housing?

I want to study part-time. Is that possible?
Yes. Continuing Education offers over 600 courses each year for part-time learners. Students can earn certificates entirely through part-time study; they can also transfer some credits into full-time day programs. Distance Education offers the opportunity to study from home through several innovative methods. Regional Campuses are also open in four areas of the province for your convenience.
Does RRC offer home-study programs or courses online?
Yes. There are many classes and some certificate and diploma programs that can be taken through Distance Education.
How do I apply/register?
The quickest and easiest way to apply or register is online. Complete full-time program application instructions (online, by mail, and in-person) are available online. If you’d prefer to receive a full-time program application form by mail, please e-mail your request along with your mailing address to register@rrc.mb.ca or contact the Student Services Centre at 204-632-2327. Complete Continuing Education class registration instructions (online, by mail, fax, phone, or voice-mail, sponsorship, and in-person) and Distance Education class registration instructions (online, by mail, fax, or phone, sponsorship, and in-person) are also available online.
What are tuition costs?
Tuition and other program fees for full-time day programs vary and can be found within the information for each individual full-time program. Select the program in which you are interested and then click on “Program Dates and Fees” on the left hand side of the page. Continuing Education, Distance Education and Regional Campus program/course fees may be found on their respective sites.
How do I apply for a scholarship?

If I enrol in a program that requires the use of a laptop computer, can I use my own instead of paying the technology fee to have one supplied by the college?
No. All students in laptop-equipped programs must use one supplied by the College. This ensures that all students have laptops of the same quality with the same software package. It also means that if your laptop breaks down, the College will fix or replace it immediately.
What is cooperative education?
Co-operative Education (or co-op) is offered in many Red River College programs, and it combines classroom learning with paid on-the-job experience. Co-operative education is offered in many forms at Red River College. Some programs offer an opportunity for several months of paid on-the-job training.
What happens on the first day of classes?
For most full-time students, the first day is orientation day as many programs hold an orientation session to introduce the students to the instructors. However, some programs start classes on the first day, so your attendance is mandatory.
Are my College credits transferable to any university degree programs?
Universities and Colleges across Canada and the United States have formal articulation agreements with Red River College that allow students to apply College credits towards other programs or a degree. Are any of my high school credits transferable to a College program?
Yes, credits may be transferable depending on what you studied at high school and what you plan to study at the College. Red River College has formal credit-transfer agreements with several Manitoba school divisions. More than a dozen College programs will grant credit to eligible high school graduates. Is it possible to obtain credit for college-level knowledge and skills gained outside the classroom and/or through other educational programs?
Yes, at RRC, Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) applies rigorous assessment methods which follow College policies and procedures and ensure that credible learning has taken place. If the learning demonstrated is equivalent to what would normally be acquired through a formal course(s) in the chosen area of study, then credit is granted.
Are there employment statistics for graduates of RRC programs?
The Graduate Employment Report provides information on the outcomes of RRC programs. It provides valuable market information to help potential students make informed career decisions. The report includes information about typical positions occupied by graduates, starting salaries, and other relevant information.
How can I find the E-Mail address of a faculty member or student?
E-mail addresses of current faculty and staff are available online. Requests for e-mail addresses of former faculty members should be directed to the specific department in which they worked. In compliance with the Manitoba Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), the College cannot release student personal or academic information to a third party without the written consent of the student. Therefore, student e-mail addresses are not published. However, requests for e-mail addresses of former students can be directed to Alumni Records at alumni@rrc.mb.ca.
