For the convenience of our evening students, evening parking passes are now available. These new passes are valid after 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday. There is no charge for weekend parking. To purchase a pass please visit the Student Service Centre, Notre Dame Campus, D101. Rates are $6 per month for one evening per week, $12 per month for two evenings per week, etc. Minimum purchase is one month.
Students requiring parking at the Notre Dame Campus between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00 am and 5:00 pm Fridays must purchase a parking permit from the Student Services Centre. Parking permits are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and can be purchased monthly or for multiple months at a time. As parking is limited and often sells out, we recommend students purchase multi-month passes that cover the duration of their program. If no parking spaces are available, students can add their name to a wait list and be notified once a space opens up.
RRC encourages students to be green and use alternative methods of getting to campus such as carpooling with classmates or taking Winnipeg Transit. The College offers a carpool matching service that matches students up with others in their area to carpool to the College together. For more information, visit http://www.carpool.ca/. Please visit the Parking Services office (D100) for carpooling requirements and to register your “carpool group”. Students parking in the designated carpool area MUST be registered with Parking Services. Failure to register may result in parking tickets.
Winnipeg Transit offers numerous bus routes to the College including buses 19, 26, 28 and 77. Visit www.winnipegtransit.com for updated routes and schedules for buses coming to RRC.
Areas which cannot be used are: 24-hour reserved stalls, No Parking areas, Loading Zones, staff areas or any area as defined in the Traffic and Parking Regulations. (Copies are available at Parking Services.)
Overnight parking between 3:00 am and 6:00 am is not permitted without prior authorization from Parking Services.
Parking Pre-Sales for programs with start dates between August 19 and September 9, 2013
Normally, pre-sale of parking is not permitted and permits become active on the date purchased. However, students in programs at the Notre Dame Campus with class start dates between August 19 and September 9, 2013 may pre-purchase parking. The permit will become active (usable) on the first day of class.
The Student Parking application and payment must be completed and submitted to a Student Service Centre:
Parking fees may be paid by cheque, money order, MasterCard, VISA, or American Express (do not send cash by mail). Cash and debit will be accepted for in-person applications only.
Applications will be accepted starting July 15, 2013 and must be postmarked, faxed or dropped off no later than August 2, 2013.
Parking permits will be available for students at time of purchase. For faxed/mailed-in applications, the permit will be mailed to the student.
This information is for pre-sales only. All other applications must be made in person at the Student Service Centre, Room D101, Notre Dame Campus.
Where to Apply for Student Parking
Student parking is sold on a first-come, first-served basis. To purchase parking, please complete the Student Parking Application and submit it in-person to the Student Service Centre, Room D101, Notre Dame Campus.
Depending on the availability, students have the choice of power or non-power parking. Parking is assigned in student designated lots on a scramble basis.
The following rates are in effect from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014. All prices include GST.
Monthly parking power: $61.95
Monthly parking non-power: $55.65
Only one permit will be issued to each applicant and permits are valid only in the assigned area. The parking permit must be hung from the rearview mirror and must be fully visible from the outside of the windshield to be valid.
The holder of the parking permit cannot transfer, sell or assign the parking permit to any other person and will be held responsible for any and all parking tickets associated with this pass.
Lost and/or stolen parking permits must be reported to Parking Services. A replacement permit is $26.25 (price includes GST).
Students must apply at the Student Service Centre, Room D101, Notre Dame Campus, for a parking refund. Refunds will be made only to the original permit holder and will be calculated from the date of refund application. Passes with 14 days or less until expiry will not be issued a refund. Parking refunds will be processed in approximately 15 business days.
Requests for permits will be processed regardless of admission status. Permits issued prior to acceptance into a program does not guarantee a student a seat in the program. Students should ensure they have a seat or are continuing in their program before purchasing parking. Refunds may not be available after purchase if student admission status is cancelled or suspended from their program. The last two (2) weeks of a permit are not eligible for a refund.
The Intelligent Parking Lot Controllers (IPLCs) located at the RRC Notre Dame Campus are for block heaters only. All power consumption at these stalls is continually monitored and metered for this use. Any additional power use will automatically shut off the power stall and require a manual reset.
The predetermined maximum amperage is automatically controlled by outside conditions and adjusted according to temperature severity.
A monthly MMM permit can be purchased for $36.75 (price includes GST). Motor vehicles must be parked in designated areas. If you have a valid parking permit, a MMM permit will be issued at no charge for the same duration. The registration must be produced and the motor vehicle must be registered to the student.
Special parking arrangements for students with physical disabilities can be made. A medical certificate must be presented at time of application.
Note: Any motor vehicle or bicycle operated, used or parked on College property, and its contents, is solely at the risk of the owner or operator. The College, the Board of Governors and their officers, employees and agencies are not liable for any injury to any persons (including death) or for any damage to or loss of property arising from the use, operation, parking or standing of any motor vehicle or bicycle on College property.
Security Services requests the cooperation and assistance of students throughout the year in keeping the campus a safe environment for all. Should you observe any suspicious activity in the parking lots or elsewhere, please advise Security immediately by calling 204-632-2323 (24 hours daily) or by picking up one of the numerous Safewalk phones located throughout the College. The CodeBlue emergency phone located in the West parking (corner of Bldgs. E and F) and in the South parking lot (adjacent to the Commissionaire’s booth) will also provide direct contact with Security Services.
The College can cancel a parking permit at anytime if the permit holder does not pay a required fee or fine; comply with parking regulations; transfers, alters, sells or assigns the permit; or if the College determines the holder’s parking area is required for College purposes. (If alternative parking cannot be provided, the College will refund the unused portion of the permit.)
Students who receive College parking tickets must comply with the conditions indicated on the ticket. Failure to pay any parking-related fine could result in the cancellation of parking privileges. It could also result in the withholding of mark transcripts, diplomas or certificates until the amount due has been received by the College. Unsettled accounts will be turned over to an authorized collection agency for resolution.
A student may also be subject to disciplinary action for non-payment of outstanding parking tickets.
